Rolex presents two new versions of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona whose dials contrast white and black natural mother-of-pearl and a bezel set with brilliant-cut diamonds. These reinterpretations achieve the perfect balance of precision and preciousness.
This Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona in 18 kt Everose gold, with a bright black and Sundust, diamond-set dial and an Oysterflex bracelet, features a black Cerachrom bezel with tachymetric scale.
The new Rolex Daytona is still, by all means, a Daytona as we’ve come to know it in the past 35 years. Or at least, the new reference 126500LN is very close visually to the previous reference 116500LN, which was nothing more than a ceramic bezel and black rings on the dial added to a steel reference 116520. We now have a steel Daytona with black ceramic bezel! This watch closes the loop on the entire Daytona family, bringing back back the familiar look that we first saw in 1965 with the reference 6240 and ultimately the 6263. The new bezel also brings the Daytona more in line with a vintage 6263 (Rolex even says that the black bezel "is reminiscent of the 1965 model that was fitted with a black Plexiglas bezel insert"), and I just think it looks better.
It uses a new monobloc Cerachrom bezel in black ceramic with an updated tahcymeter design, shedding the older engraved metal bezel. It’s still got the calibre 4130 movement, but is now tested by Rolex to +2/-2 seconds per day accuracy, which is super impressive for a mass produced chronograph.
