Looking to eventually get a nicer watch and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on which of these two watches (Rolex datejust and JLC master control geographic) they'd prefer as well as if there are any others people would recommend over both of these.

Master control date has no lume if that matters and is a printed dial, Meaning no depth. I am struggling with adding it and if I would get bored of it or not. I use date all the time, so I would certainly restrict yourself to date watches, the square will hard to pull off with small wrists, most JLC that have dates (reverse) are huge and look .Next Watch - Datejust or JLC Reverso? I have two JLCs, an Master Control Chronograph (Q1538420), and an Grand Revereso GMT. They are both excellent in so many ways, reliable, robust with great timing stability. Having said, compared them with Rolex Daytona and Sub (with no date), my experience still suggests that modern Rolexes, in general, have better time precision/accuracy. I was torn between this JLC, or the Master Ultra Thin Date in SS that was recently released. After handling both in person I decided to seal the deal with the standard Master Control. Both use the same Caliber 899, however have a different case shape. An Aqua Terra is a far far better match with the Rolex DateJust in both style and price point. I’d take an aqua terra over a DJ anytime. Reply reply
JLC is known for top notch Reverso models and beautiful but ok'ish Master Control functionality. I had a Master Control Chrono a few years ago with the 3 sub dials and date awhile back. Ended up selling it because I got tired of sending it back in for service all the time.
