We have to remove them for engraving, regulation and repair. As long it is performed by a qualified Technician (CH21) or Rolex certified I certainly don . I have all of the watch tools I need for most routine care and maintenance (removing case back tool, tweezers, screwdrivers, etc). My watch took a nasty face down fall onto a concrete patio. Face/Crystal was unharmed, but the 12 o'clock "marker" came loose. I wish to remove the face and replace the "marker" - its posts are not damaged.
I could be wrong, but I think they started putting the hologram stickers on back in the day before the counterfiters could duplicate them. I don't think the current models have those stickers on. An any rate, a Q-tip and a little solvent will take off the glue after the sticker is removed. And it should be removed. I looked around and found a beautiful vintage ladies date just. It was around 4500. The watch arrived the other day and, other than a few barely visible hairline scratches on the crystal, looked beautiful out of the box. I looked it over, no blemishes, but I did notice on the back of the watch a "stainless steel" engraving.

Use the spring bar tool or toothpick remove the pin on the clasp to allow the watch to lie flat. Use the packing tape cover the tip of the table knife and around the bezel area.
